Professional golf legend Johnny Miller and Santa Rosa architect Fred Bliss designed this challenging 6,800-yard course where water or wetlands come into play on every hole. These natural surroundings play host to various indigenous animals such as mallards, geese, raccoons, beavers, wild turkeys, coyotes and deer.
Though the wildlife help add to the splendor of your experience, the course itself is what makes Whitney Oaks unique. Thousands of majestic live oaks, an abundance of well-placed bunkers, enormous granite outcroppings and an ever-changing topography highlight this championship layout with bentgrass greens full of subtle and sometimes striking contours to challenge even the most seasoned golfers. To accommodate players of all levels, every tee box features a choice of five separate, strategically placed markers of various distances, based on skill level.

The Ridge Golf Club truly has an exciting layout for golf, a course in the golden foothills of California designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. At The Ridge, you'll find a series of oak-studded knolls and hills with lots of rock outcroppings and splendid views. There's a 100-foot elevation change on the course. This feels like wide open country. Jones used 48 bunkers on our 170-acre site to enhance the demands of this rugged layout. You'll also find water on several holes of this par-71 course. But there are four sets of tees here so you can choose how many tests you want to face. “It doesn't have to be a difficult course,” said Greg French, retired director of golf at The Ridge. “Every player of every skill level can have a good time playing here.”
